Today, we’re going to look at some of the most recent offerings from Ecovacs, specifically the brand-new Ecovacs Deebot T30S Combo and how it stacks up against their flagship X2 Combo and last year’s T20 Omni. Understanding Ecovacs Product Lines

Let’s quickly clear up the naming differences between the different Ecovacs product lines:

1. X Series: This is their flagship series featuring the latest and greatest in tech.
2. T Line: This mid-range series houses proven tech from the X Series.
3. N Series: This is their value line, designed with affordability in mind.

Unboxing and First Impressions

A big thanks goes out to Ecovacs for sending over the T30S for review and for sponsoring today’s video. Let’s dive into all the features of the T30S Combo and see how it compares to other products in the Ecovacs line.

Design and Size

The T30S Combo returns to the standard round shape, unlike the D-shape of the X2. Both are about the same size, with the T30S being a bit taller at 100mm compared to the X2’s 95mm. The LiDAR stalk on the T30S makes it a bit taller, which could affect its ability to get under low furniture.

Vacuuming Power

The T30S boasts 11,000 pascals of suction, making it the most powerful vacuum I’ve seen on the market, compared to the X2’s 8,900 pascals and the T20’s 6,000 pascals. It features the standard edge brush and a hybrid main brush as part of the Zero Tangle anti-tangle system. The new comb plate design prevents hair from getting tangled around the edges of the brush.

Object Detection and Mapping

The T30S uses True Detect 3D object detection to avoid obstacles like socks and toys. However, it struggles with cords unless they are large or a different color than the carpet. It also features True Mapping 2.0 technology, supporting multiple floors and allowing high-detailed map creation with virtual boundaries, no-go zones, and no-mop zones.

Surface Flexibility and Runtime

The T30S can clean both hard surfaces and carpets, using vacuum and mopping modes. It has a 200-minute runtime with a 5200mAh battery, smaller than the X2’s, but more efficient. If it runs low on battery, it will return to the dock, recharge, and resume cleaning.

Mopping System

Ecovacs has always had an impressive mopping system with dual spinning mops that put pressure and spin for a deeper clean. The T30S introduces True Edge Adaptive Edge Cleaning, allowing one mop head to pivot outward for better edge cleaning. The mopping heads lift off automatically when carpet is detected, though the T30S’s 9mm auto-lift is less than the X2’s 15mm.

Base Station Features

The base station includes a handheld vacuum, great for cleaning stairs, couches, and counters. It has 17,000 pascals of suction and comes with three tool attachments. Both the robot and handheld vac empty into a 3L disposable dust bag, providing about 90 days of cleaning before needing to change the bag. The base station also features self-filling and self-cleaning water tanks, using 158°F water to clean the mopping pads and prevent smells.
